There are 2 versions of your website; a working version and a live version. When managing the content of your website you are always editing the working version of your website. The working version is not viewable on your live website; only in preview mode may you see your working version changes. Publishing your website moves your working version to your live site and is then viewable by your users. When publishing you have the option to make a backup of your site before publishing.
Note: Uploaded files such as documents and images do not have a working and live version like the content of your site. All documents and images are always viewable on your website. If your live site is referencing a file that you overwrite when making edits to your working version, that file will be overwritten on the live site as well.
Recent archives: This tool lists out all the versions of your website that you have published so that you can go back and either restore or preview your site at that time. Note: there is no archive for uploaded files so any referenced file will use whatever version is live on your site now (not at the time of the archive). |
