Installing Tandem Server

Prerequisites: Windows Platform, IIS 6+, ASP.NET 3.5, Medium Trust Mode or Higher, Read/Write Permissions.

Step 1: Download the latest version of Tandem Server from http://TandemServer.org and unzip the downloaded file (TandemServer_XXXX.zip) to your desktop.

Step 2: Read the End User License Agreement (EULA) document and READ_ME.txt file.

Step 3: FTP/Copy the contents of the “Webroot” folder to your website root “http://yoursite.com ”. After copying these files/folders to your website, open an internet browser to http://yoursite.com/install. This will install Tandem Server on your website. After installing, follow the instructions at the bottom of the installation page. Tandem Server is now ready to use.

Step 4: After successfully installing Tandem Server, setup a 404 (file not found) page in IIS to point to the “FileNotFound.aspx” page in the root of your website “http://yoursite.com/filenotfound.aspx”. Contact you hosting company if you are not sure how to do this. Setting up this 404 page is not necessary for Tandem Server to run, you only need to set this up if you want to take advantage of Tandem Server’s SEO URL feature where you can give your page URLs a friendly name i.e. http://yoursite.com/contactus instead of the default URL of http://yoursite.com/default.aspx?pageid=2.
